  • If you’re like me and bought an iPhone Duo, you’re likely a bit disappointed by the options on the market to prop it up on a table. Apple’s official $129 folio with kickstand is expensive, flimsy, and gets in the way of the outer display. MagSafe wallets that turn into kickstands are too tall for the back of the phone, and there aren’t many good third party cases yet. That said, the perfect option for an iPhone Duo kickstand might’ve actually been hiding in plain sight all along. more…

Over 45,000 organizations trust Mosyle to make millions of Apple devices work ready with no effort and at an affordable cost. Request your EXTENDED TRIAL today and understand why Mosyle is everything you need to work with Apple. Apple hardware costs more than it did a year ago, and if you have purchased a fleet recently, you are feeling it. Now, one thing I should mention: Macs have not risen in price with inflation or performance. If you think about what a Mac mini or MacBook Air cost when they launched vs. today, I would still say they are extremely affordable. With that being said, there’s a scenario taking shape in the enterprise where the price of a Mac matters a lot less than it used to. If open-weight AI models become a real part of how companies work, Apple Silicon might end up looking basically free compared to the token bill it supplements. more…

On Security Bite, it’s one of my favorite pastimes to explain why camera covers are virtually useless today. I’ve been called out plenty of times for it. So when Apple patches a bug that lets a malicious app get access to the camera without permission, I find myself in a rather precarious situation. This week, Apple released iOS 27.2 to the public, and with it, over 160 different vulnerability patches. One of them fixes a bug that could let a malicious app access an iPhone’s or Mac’s camera without the user’s permission. Rest assured, this is not a hardware issue. Apple’s post-2008 change that put the camera module and the green LED indicator on the same circuit is not at fault here. more…
